resource_revival_1.jpg For those who haven’t heard much about them, Resource Revival is a great concept of bringing forth innovative designs that are created by reusing used cycle parts. These cool clocks we have here are just one among the many recycled parts that have been put to some good use. They also have some cool retro bottle openers that are made using bicycle parts. These bring about the dawn of a new era of collectables for bicycle enthusiasts who have cravings for such goods. I have come across a bunch of little nobodies who had their ‘first bicycle ever’ actually suspended on their walls!

chocolate_clock.gif If you have always adored those cool cuckoo clocks that have the little plastic replicas of white cuckoos popping out every hour to alert you of the time then here’s a little more to the concept that may impress you. The Chococlock goes one step ahead with the concept of hourly updates and pops out a little chocolate candy for you every hour. You better be alert when the clock strikes else you may end up missing the treat for the next whole hour. It tests both, your ability to control your desires for chocolate long enough till the clock strikes an hour and your alertness to respond to an alarm that goes off without missing a second.

The clock face is circular and plain white. With the hour marks replaced with stick figures playing the various sports that the games include. The stick figures are smartly illustrated in a manner that resembles Chinese alphabets. It has a red hanging below it that is reminiscent of house hangings in a Tokyo household. It indeed maintains the ethnic Chinese look with the classy aura that surrounds it. The Olympic logo is placed in between the clock, where the hands meet.

Rocket launcher alarm clock makes sure you wake up

July 11, 2008 - 3:04 AM : Related Entries - Freak/Futuristic/Fun | Time Machines

rocket_alarm_clock.gif I dread those mornings when I need to wake up early but the beer from yesterday simply has a strange tranquilizing effect as it begins to take control over your senses and drop you into a hangover. So we have some interesting alarm clocks around the block that have implemented some crazy ideas that have resulted in breakages, damages and even pointless screaming by the ‘victims’ who eventually end up thanking the clock. The rocket launcher alarm clock works in the similar nerve. It starts a countdown the moment the alarm goes off. If you still do not wake up then the rocket is launched somewhere in the room. To stop the alarm you need to relocate the rocket and replace it on the clock.

butler_alarm-clock.jpg Oh yes we all remember that Forster Beer commercial that shows you how a person is awakened. Here’s something a little more gentlemanly. The butler alarm clock wakes you up with dignity and respect and can also give you that undeserved touch of importance every time it asks you to pardon it for the inconvenience. I like this one. it makes a great way to start a new day.

Spearmint Blue Fridge Clock Keeps You Updated On Time

February 19, 2008 - 10:18 AM : Related Entries - Kitchen | Time Machines

Wall_Clock1.jpg The Spearmint Blue Fridge Clock is made from rubber and is capable of stubbornly sticking to your fridge door so that you don't miss out on even a second while keeping your fish in the frying pan. Believe me, it is hard work to run to another room to check on the time while cooking. It is also painful to watch an expensive wall clock get all covered in steam and soot. This one is made of rubber so there's minimal wear and tear possible to affect this one because of heat and other issues.

Eye Clock: Staring At You

November 30, 2007 - 1:28 AM : Related Entries - Time Machines

eye-clock-side.jpg Eye Clock! How is that for a bad name? Well, these guys should have worked on that department. Anyway, the clock in itself is a smartly designed model of a human eye. It is basically a frame of brass curves that form the shape of the eye with the main mechanics of the clock in between. The Vitra Design Museum have put in some good thought in the design of this one. It seems both light and smart for someone seeking a decor with a minimalistic touch..

A Gigabyte In A Wristwatch!

usb-watch.jpg As memory sticks take some rather weird shapes and forms, How about this cool watch that is in fact a memory device in disguise. It has a memory capacity of about a gigabyte. What's really cool about the watch is that it isn't freakily large or bulky. In fact it is just about the size of a perfectly normal watch. This may come to the rescue of those who wish to smuggle a memory stick to work but are apprehended by the security at the gates. With this cool watch, those blokes won't even guess that a gigabyte of data has just been whisked out of there right under their noses!

Watch Ring Concept: Saving Space

November 16, 2007 - 6:34 AM : Related Entries - Accessories | Freak/Futuristic/Fun | Time Machines

digitus watch ring charles windlin.jpg Here's a cool concept product by Charles Windlin. Called the Watch Ring, it is basically a ring with a display screen that runs along its body. With a brilliant digital display, the ring also has a lower layer of gold that comes with it. I liked the design since it can be used by both sexes with equal elegance and style. There will just be the issue of treating the ring well, since I feel that it won't necessarily be as tough as a normal ring that is subject to a lot of rough treatment.

Golden Record Wall Clock.jpgIt's fine if you aren't a musician who has a coveted platinum album hanging on your wall to brag about. With the Golden Record Wall Clock you can have both, a beautiful shiny disc on your wall as well as a clock that's elegant and goes well with all your furniture. It works with a single AA battery. The disc clock is a perfect replica of a twelve inch LP. I wonder what happens when you try to play it. I mean, with all the sincerity in the design of this one, there can always be a thought spared for the true use of LPs.
