It's been a while since we reviewed a GPS device. Say hello to the Navigon 2100 Max and the 2120 Max. Also called as Persona Navigation Devices (PNDs), these devices come with text to speech direction guides and Navigon's exclusive offering called the Reality View. The 4.3 inch touch screens looks worthy of being savored by gizmo freaks. The new DirectHelp feature provides hints to near by civic amenities. The FreshMaps feature that comes with Navigon's service can offer you up to 12 new POIs every three years. The 2D and 3D maps rendered by the systems are said to be well created and almost 'beautiful'.

The iRiver NV is a GPS and PMP system. It has been much sought out and highly anticipated. The NV has a much needed 7” LED TFT screen (800x480) since it provides with DMB TV and SiRF III GPS Navigation. The greater the size of the screen, the better the details one can take it. An additional advantage of owning this is that you are blessed with 1.3 megapixel camera. Supported media formats for playback include MP3, WMA, OGG, MP1, MP2, MP2.5, WMA7, WMA8 and WMA9. It also has FM radio and 2 SD Card slots.
This isn’t an updated product but the Samsung i550 is simply stunning. It comes in with GPS navigation with dedicated keys to serve the purpose. With 3G and 3.6 Mbps HSDPA stuffed in it I’m sure that critics have nothing to complain of nor do purchasers need any thinking twice. For all those imaging and video shooting freaks, you have a drop dead brilliant 3.2 megapixel camera. To view your catch you have 2.6" display screen. The Samsung i550 has 128 MB of main memory and a microSD card slot. Other features include microUSB, FM radio and a 3.5 mm jack. What’s more is that the smartphone is compact and has body stats of just 115 x 53 x 13.8 mm. and finally, Samsung is proud to call it their “first bar-shaped Symbian smartphone”.
If you are a globetrotter and find it a pain to have your conversations with the tourism authorities in China go as well as it went with the blokes in England, then here’s a relieving find. The iTRAVL Language Communicator is a great travel PDA with the availability to speak the translated version of your input phrase in English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. The database in the gizmo has a total of 63000 phrases. And that’s not all. The iTRAVL also contains Fodor’s guide for 50 major destinations on 5 continents, the CIA World Factbook for 180 countries, audio guides to major museums around the world (that’s really too much, isn’t it?) and a spectacular 1.6 million word audiovisual dictionary.
The Delphi Nav300 GPS packs NAVTEQ Map software system into it that includes maps and guides for the United States, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. It provides with helpful features like lane assistance and road sign alerts so that even if you do not have your head on your shoulders when behind the wheel, you can trust that you’re pretty safe. It also points out Points of Interest (PoI) and shall have ZAGAT ratings facility by September. Other features include voice commands and assistance, Bluetooth, Text-To-Speech for street names, speed limit warnings and scores of other goodies. It can also be used as a media player as it provides audio and video support and SD expansion.
