HMS Automatic Warp Watch is inspired by Star Trek

cpcwristband_small.jpgHere’s a tough watch that has a strap that’s made from hypoallergenic rubber (to keep it from reacting with your sweat and causing problems) and a light body that’s made of carbon fiber (which is practically useless in this case). It is guaranteed to last fifty years by the makers. “The seconds are displayed at 3 o'clock on a cylinder linked directly to the crown. 9 o'clock forms the tail of the “spaceship””. The watch bears a strong connection to Star Trek since it the TV show has strongly influenced the making and design of the watch.

Football Fridge: For soccer loving travelers

July 21, 2008 - 11:10 AM : Related Entries - Freak/Futuristic/Fun

soccer-chiller.jpg Euro 2008 is just passed us but the football fever still remains and keeps us asking for more. How about this fridge that (according to me) needed to be around for the countless number of travelers who made their way to Austria and Switzerland for the summer games. It is shaped like an football and opens up to expose the various facilities and compartments that accommodate cans of beer. It connects to the cigarette lighter of your car and has a capacity of cooling six cans of beer at a time. What can be better than feeling and being cool in this hot summer? We still have the Olympic games coming up and although driving to the venue is impossible (given the location of the games) there isn't much that should be missed as far as our vain sport enthusiasm is concerned.

Rocket launcher alarm clock makes sure you wake up

July 11, 2008 - 3:04 AM : Related Entries - Freak/Futuristic/Fun | Time Machines

rocket_alarm_clock.gif I dread those mornings when I need to wake up early but the beer from yesterday simply has a strange tranquilizing effect as it begins to take control over your senses and drop you into a hangover. So we have some interesting alarm clocks around the block that have implemented some crazy ideas that have resulted in breakages, damages and even pointless screaming by the ‘victims’ who eventually end up thanking the clock. The rocket launcher alarm clock works in the similar nerve. It starts a countdown the moment the alarm goes off. If you still do not wake up then the rocket is launched somewhere in the room. To stop the alarm you need to relocate the rocket and replace it on the clock.

KISS Plasma Light Sculpted Head: Brrr… it's Gene again!

June 28, 2008 - 4:12 AM : Related Entries - Freak/Futuristic/Fun

kiss_plasma_light1.jpg Besides the 12 inch tongue, blood-stained-axe-shaped bass guitar and bat-wing costume, Gene Simmons is also knows for his fantastic marketing talents. He endorses everything that's got KISS on it. This light is testimony to what I claim. It's the head of the prolific bassist with that ever famous tongue sticking out. Just that this time it isn't blood red or dripping with blood or anything of the sort. It's just full of LEDs and fiber optics that give it the glow. Now you can use it to scare away the kids from your draw or to pay respects to the legendary, blood spitting bassy, If you think that it is worth the $60 price tag that's attached to it then make sure you get one soon. Not many copies of Gene-endorsed goods remain.

Heineken Jacuzzi drowns you with beer

June 17, 2008 - 4:57 AM : Related Entries - Drinkware | Freak/Futuristic/Fun

heineken_jacuzzi.jpg There you go again. All this while I hide myself from the foam and bitter pleasure of beer and now this Jacuzzi makes me want some more all of a sudden. With no care for hygiene or a pretty, sleek or sexy design, the folk who designed this bathing arena surely had just one thing in mind – beer. The "crates" that are used as the walls of the Jacuzzi give you the feeling that you experience once you have a few liters of the beloved beverage gushed down your system. There's Heineken all over the place. If you are the real world copy of Homer Simpson then there isn't much to keep you away from all this.

Maison Martin Sunglasses: A new statement in style

June 2, 2008 - 9:39 AM : Related Entries - Freak/Futuristic/Fun

margiela-sunglass.jpg If the X-Men left a mark on your childhood memory then you will recall the character Cyclops. It was his glasses that people remembered him for more than the flashy, destructive light beams emitted every time he parted his eyelids. These Maison Martin sunglasses seem to be designed keeping the sore-eyed mutant in mind. The shades are featured here in silvery white and black. I wonder how it feels to wear glasses that don't have room for your nose.

hand-granade-clock.jpg If the battlefield is where the heart is then here's something for you. Whether a soldier or a GI Joe fan, these alarm clocks are made for the die hard ones. The Hand Grenade Watch is a unique and very new concept that, I am pretty sure, hasn't been experienced since the inception of the concept of alarm clocks clicked on. Grenades are meant to be thrown and you have to throw this one to make sure that it goes off. Don't worry about breaking this one since it's made to be tough. The clock is made of soft PVC that absorbs all the shock from your furious flings.

starwars-fishing-tackle.jpg Take the movies fishing with you and you will find yourself with two passions together. Since there are no evil spacemen to attack with your lightsaber, you can try it out on some harmless fish. This fishing kit, as you must have guessed by now, is for those who love fishing the Star Wars way. It comprises of a pretty Star Wars tackle box, a back pack and fishing rod that’s shaped like the indispensable lightsaber. It is a good idea to have these around. The Star Wars fishing kit has no price attached to it as yet. I look forward to similar fishing equipment themed on Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

Studio Hideki's La Luna Fan

deskfan.jpg The summers aren't far away and it's time to get ready to face the heat. The idea of a desk fan at work is never too preposterous. This one's got an unconventional design but it can add a lot of oomph to a grim looking desk. It is made up of something that's between a honeycomb and a macaroni pattern and doesn't remotely seem like a fan. The surprise of your colleagues on finding cool air coming out of this one is something that will be more rewarding than the breeze itself.

Tree Pee Keeps You Safe and High

April 3, 2008 - 6:00 AM : Related Entries - Freak/Futuristic/Fun

treepee.jpg This is something like an elevated tent that isn't exactly elevated enough to be called a tree house, but it is at a height that doesn't need you to use a ladder to get in. It can be freely suspended in the air or it can be anchored to the ground. It is a well known nemesis to have insects and pests irritate you when you go out camping. This can restrict easy access to them. As far as bear attacks are concerned, well, you probably may just appear as a bee in a giant bee hive to Mr. Grizzly.

Palette Digital Artist Handheld PC

palette_digital-artist_1.jpg We had a time in the history of art when artists would use natural color and natural palettes. The advent of plastic changed things a bit by introduced well structured palettes. For the artist of tomorrow, stained fingers will merely be something non existent. This one's in contention for the Microsoft NextGen PC Design Competition. The concept is designed in such a manner that the system is wireless. Using the futuristic paintbrush that comes with this one, you can add a new touch of color to your images by using the available colors that are placed around the futuristic palette.

Post Death Contributions To Nature

March 10, 2008 - 8:40 AM : Related Entries - Freak/Futuristic/Fun | Other Stuff

ecopod.jpg This is one of those means to reduce pollution and spread a few smirks as well. Being buried in a pod is something that most insects would not think of. However, if the pod is going to ensure that after death your remains will not contribute to pollution, then it's worth a thought. Instead of beating around the bush, let's get to the point. The Ecopod coffins are made of recycled paper that's hardened so that it can hold your cadaver for less than eternity. I wonder if that can win you some brownie points at the pearly gates for saving nature.
