sanyo-camcorder_1.jpg Here's a brilliant camera that can make still shooting a real treat. This one's by Sanyo and is called the Xacti CG9 Camcorder. It is shaped a lot like a hair drier but has the features of a pretty good shooter. It can capture still images at a resolution of up to 9.1 megapixel and records video files in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 formats. The 5x optical zoom and the 12x digital zoom can help you capture distant images as well. I really am eager to check out the videos captured by this one at 60 fps. It's also got a cool 2.5 inch display screen for you to cherish the images and videos you capture.

Lego Brick Camera Mount: Any Use?

March 12, 2008 - 3:07 AM : Related Entries - Cameras | Toys

lego_brick_camera.jpg Sorry for the catchy title Lego fans. The camera mount isn't actually made of Lego blocks that you can break apart and rejoin, but it simply has a coat that resembles Lego blocks. This is for those who just love the idea of having everything ‘Legofied’. This is the work of the idle hands of one Mr. Matthew Davidson. Lego has won the hearts of millions of people from time immemorial. Gizmodude has covered cufflinks, tables and even iPod accessories that are built on the theme and block structure of Lego. It was built to bring together the Bogen 3157N’s base-plate to meet a Lego 32532 6x8 Technic Brick. The procedure, if homemade, would really be a fascinating experience.

See Through Camera: Not For Pranksters!

March 10, 2008 - 10:45 AM : Related Entries - Cameras

thru_vision.jpg Here's something most teenagers would kill for. The T5000 is a unique camera that can see right through clothes. Irrespective of whether you want to play Super Man or James Bon, the camera can detect objects that are concealed beneath clothing at distances of up to 80 feet away. If you are one of those folks who hate showing others the intricate details of your body then do not worry. The camera simply hides the fine details (or is it an incapability) and only outlines your body. Given its range, this camera is well suited for high security malls and places of importance. I just wonder what the mental condition of the person monitoring passers will be like the end of the day.

Olympus E-420 DSLR: Smaller and Lighter for the Pocket

March 7, 2008 - 2:32 AM : Related Entries - Cameras

olympus_e-420_1.jpg At last we have entered the age of affordable DSLR cameras. This one comes with a 2.7" LCD display screen and a crazy 10 megapixel lens. Another stunning feature is that weighs just 13.4 oz. That's 40% lighter than most of its contemporaries. Autofocus and Face Detection are features that should be taken for granted in wonders such as this. You can expect better contrast and color range with the HyperCrystal II. It brags about being the world's smallest DSLR. I wonder what's happening in the backyards of all the competitors after hearing this news. I'm more excited that curious about this.

Wireless Spy Cam: Gotchya!

November 30, 2007 - 1:28 AM : Related Entries - Cameras | Freak/Futuristic/Fun

Make Windows XP Look Like Vista.jpg This one's going to sell like hot buns. Chinavasion's Wireless Spy camera lets you record videos using a pen (that's actually a camera, duh!). It is impossible for anyone to even guess that this little pen is capable of recording and streaming videos to a wireless receiver. The receiver should be placed at a maximum distance of ten to twenty meters. It comes with support for media formats like MPEG, AVI, ASF, ADPCM, MP3, JPG and JPEG. The 64MB of memory may be too less sometimes but then you have a SD/MMC slot that can accommodate cards of up to 2 giga bytes.

usb%20mypetcam%204.thumbnail.jpg
I liked this cool camera. It isn't just fluffy but also comes with a cool camouflage. It captures at frame rates of up to 30fps with resolutions of 320×240 and at 15fps with 640×480 resolutions. The minimum focus distance is 5 cm. The camera is hidden in this fluffy dog. The adjoining USB cable extends (rather grossly) from the rear of the pup. If you look closely at the image then you'll catch a glimpse of the lens situated on the nose of the mutt. This lens can be adjusted for better focusing.

Spycatcher Glasses: Spyware at It’s Best

September 6, 2007 - 5:20 AM : Related Entries - Accessories | Cameras | Freak/Futuristic/Fun

sunglass%20camera%20spycatcher.jpg
A small and compact appliance from the future often ends up on our shelves and then we marvel at the high price. Similarly we have the Spycatcher Glasses that remind me a lot of Tom Cruise’s eyewear in some MI flick. Owning this can provide you with close competition against James Bond. The glasses are stylishly sexy and have the camera concealed somewhere between the glasses. It facilitates with both audio and video recording of a pretty good quality. It can record either NTSC or PAL with 350 lines of horizontal resolution but at a low resolution of just about 510×492 for NTSC and 500×582 for PAL. You can blame the extremely compact 1/4″ Interline CCD. There’s also an electric shutter that goes from 1/50 - 1/100,000.

Sanyo%20Xacti%20DMX-HD1000.jpgSanyo have introduced the smallest 1080p HiDef camcorder that goes by the name of Xacti DMX-HD1000. Long name, I know, but the camera has some really cool specs. The PlayStation EYE is all set to look you deep in the eye and say, “BUY ME”. For those who are wondering what this may possibly be needed for, there’s this PlayStation game called “Eye of Judgement”. This game uses a camera to control the game play. A perfect supplement one would say. And hey! You have pre-orders already being accepted by amazon.com. The design seems pretty good to tone with your PlayStation console.

The specs of the Canon 40D have been spilt by amazon.com. The 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor is capable of capturing images worthy enough for poster sized prints. The images thus procured are saved on CF cards. Video clips can be captured at 6.5 frames per second using continuous shooting. BP-511A, BP-511, or BP-512 lithium ion batteries are enough to get the 40D powered up.
